Trey McIntyre spent 10 years building his innovative dance company in Boise, Idaho, and in the process covering it and himself in dance glory. Hailed as one of the best, most innovative dance companies in America and showered with international acclaim, TMP’s sudden and mysterious end in 2014 is the backdrop to McIntyre’s introspective documentary, Gravity Hero. The film explores themes of creativity, loss, and transformation embodied in the dances McIntyre choreographed over the course of the company’s life. As the director leads us through the complexities of the death of his company, both literal and metaphorical, we find ourselves moving with him on his journey from mere success to deep artistic authenticity.
