The Ballet Master/Mistress Position with Trey McIntyre Project will be one in which a high level of professionalism and reliability will be paramount. Herein also referenced as the BM, he/she will be relied upon to manage multiple responsibilities within the company at the direction of the Artistic Director in addition to receiving requests for assistance from multiple levels within the organization. This position will be one that will be relied upon as an integral part of the TMP operations as the company prepares for and performs at venues world wide.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ballet Master/Mistress
Assistance in rehearsal with Artistic Director in the creation of new work
Assists in staging and coaching work from existing repertoires
Teaching company class
Will handle scheduling, managing, and dancer hiring
Will have a intimate role in Trey McIntyre Project outreach activities
Will assist Artistic Director in numerous and various artistic duties, including the handling of personnel
issues as they relate to the artistic staff
Understands that all positional duties will follow the direction of the Artistic Director
Trey McIntyre Project will rely on the Ballet Master/Mistress to manage and facilitate transactions in the above listed categories and beyond. The BM will encounter multi-faceted projects during the scope of his/her employment with TMP. BM will report directly to the Artistic Director of TMP, and will work in conjunction with all other TMP personnel.
* The Ballet Master/Mistress position may/will evolve as TMP progresses. This may include a re-designation of duties that will may not currently be reflected in this position description. The BM is encouraged to incorporate ideas that help during the evolution of this position.
As an employee of Trey McIntyre Project, the Ballet Master/Mistress will conduct activities during his/her scope of employment that are in accordance with company policies. The position may be afforded items to facilitate the general duties as outlined, such as a company credit card, laptop, phone, etc. It is understood that these items are to be used only for the promotion of all items related to Trey McIntyre Project, and are to be returned as requested.
The positional duties outlined in the combined offer letter, position description, and company handbook are general duties as defined at the time of the drafting of each document. It is understood that these duties may/will be amended at the discretion of Trey McIntyre Project.
